Moyes’ Cresswell update

David Moyes is hoping that Aaron Cresswell will be available for this week’s clash with Arsenal.

The left-back did not even travel with the squad for the game against Burnley on Sunday, as the Hammers were held to a 0-0 draw at Turf Moor.

Arthur Masuaku played at left-back instead of Cresswell but the Irons struggled to create again, with gilt-edged chances hard to come by against Sean Dyche’s well-organised side.

The left-back has struggled in recent weeks after sustaining a back injury against Manchester City, when he slid into a post.

However, Moyes has now confirmed that he hopes to have the left-back available again on Wednesday, when the Irons take on the Gunners in a huge clash in the top-four race.

He told reporters, per Football.London: “I am hoping so, we are short and having to get through the best we can.”

After the weekend’s results, West Ham are currently two points ahead of the sixth-placed Gunners and one point ahead of Manchester United in fifth.

Having Cresswell back ahead of a vital clash would be a huge boost.

  1. Lets hope we dont have a penalty shout. And also arsenal dont, -for different reasons of course.

  2. If he couldn’t make the bench today he ain’t gonna be in the team at the Emirates.
