Moyes decides to treat the players as adults

|

David Moyes is trusting the Hammers players to behave themselves and follow instructions during their winter break.

And he will obviously be hoping that they can perform a miracle as a result by recording a win at Anfield when they return to acting in just shy of a fortnight.

The players have flown off with their families armed with personal fitness plans as Moyes employs step one in getting them organised for the next stage of their incredibly difficult season.

Some would disagree with his methodology in giving the under-performing squad a break away but it makes sense and could act as a great mind-clearing operation as they approach the  job in front of them.

Speaking at https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2020/february/10-february/david-moyes-we-will-come-back-fresh-after-winter-break he said: : “My feeling is that I’ve always wanted to treat the players like adults.

“I want them to behave like adults as well, but for example the players who are international players get just about zero holiday time now, so for them to be told they’re going to a training camp for four days, if you were an England international or another country’s international, knowing you’ve got the Euros coming up, you’re probably going to be [feeling] lucky to get a week off.

“So, if you get the chance to have four days with your wife and your family, I think they appreciate it.”

Moyes believes the Hammers, who next play Liverpool on February 24, will benefit from a break.

He said: “I think most clubs and most managers are trying to give their players some time off. We have to understand exactly what the break is for, but mentally for the players, and managers as well. I’m just back in so I don’t need a break, but for the managers who have been at it week in, week out, they need a bit of time off too.”

The further they are away from the worst manager in the league the better.
We have one chance of staying up, the players especially the new ones (that’s if Moyes plays them and doesn’t take off the best ones too soon)
He still can’t see cresswell can’t play left back never mind in a back 3, Rice is a centre half (probably the best England has) and Haller needs someone with him.
We will only stay up if our competition falter and we get lucky.
Moyes is a disaster that keeps getting a job and very well paid, what a farce !!!!!

so melodromatic and exaggerated. the sooner West Ham fans stop waving their arms about and moan moan moaning, the better.

honestly, the way so many of our fans carry on is ACTUALLY the most embarrassing thing about this club. just ask fans of other clubs. WE are who they’re laughing at, not the team.

“worst manager in the league”. give me a break.
sound worse than Bubbles when he’s on a “i hate Noble” rant. Jesus
