Moyes denies contract talks

David Moyes has today denied he is in talks for a new contract at West Ham, speaking to the media in a virtual pre-match press conference.

He was quick to deny a report declaring:“We have not had any contract talks”  – thus putting the matter to bed for about the third time.

The question followed an early report by Sky Sports News which claimed ‘West Ham are in talks about a new contract for manager David Moyes.’

His comment confirms a ClaretandHugh article several weeks and again earlier this week that the club until the club is close to or has made itself safe from relegation.

Although he has made a great start to his second spell at the club, both the board and the manager himself will wait until then and both sides are entirely comfortable with the position.

The board are understood to have demonstrated their enthusiasm to keep him at the club by inserting performance-related clauses in his deal which, if met, will automatically trigger an extension.
