Moyes discusses Lanzini’s chances

Manu Lanzini has the right to believe that he did enough against Brighton to believe that he may be named in the team which meets Chelsea tomorrow (Sat),

And it seems David Moyes is perhaps of the same mind after watching him majke a real impression despite Albion grabbing a late draw.

A fine goal against Manchester City and the energy he is displaying are more than enough to put him bang in the rame for a starting spot.

And asked by reporters whether he has been is close to selection of late he said: “Very close. I actually thought he came on the other night and played well. He was very much in consideration to play against Brighton.

I think Lanzini is offering little bit more to us. He’s played a wee bit further up but I see him probably going forward playing a little bit further back. And at the moment in that position we’ve got Tomas and Declan.

I think he can play a little further back almost as an orthodox midfield player, whereas in the past he’s probably played 10. But at the moment he can do all the jobs for us. We can sort of use him as a midfield player or as a 10 or can bring him in off the sides at times as well.

He’s been a little bit unlucky but we have good competition for places.
