Moyes drools over Hammer

David Moyes has been left blown away by the recent performances of Andriy Yarmolenko.

The Ukraine international has been in exceptional form in the last two games and has been the hero in the last two games.

The winger scored the first goal in the 2-1 win over Aston Villa last weekend, before collapsing into an emotional celebration; it was his first appearance since Russia’s appalling invasion of his native country.

And then on Thursday, Yarmo came off the bench again to score, this time netting the winner in the heroic 2-0 victory over Sevilla in the Europa League in extra time.

That goal has seen the Hammers progress to the quarter-finals of the competition, with Moyes’ men set to learn their opponents on Friday, when the draw is made.

Speaking ahead of this weekend’s game against Spurs, Moyes waxed lyrical about the quality of the 32-year-old in recent games.

Per Football.London, he said: “He’s been really important to us in the last two games. He’s scored two vital goals.

“There’s no doubting the quality he’s got. We’re pleased he’s helping the team with the contributions he’s making at this time.”
