Moyes drops a heavy Fab hint

David Moyes has dropped a heavy hint that Lukasz Fabianski may well replace Alphonse Areola in goal for Sunday’s clash with Leeds in the third round of the FA Cup.

Fab has been in fine form, all season but it will come as a surprise should he be between the sticks although the manager clearly sees that as a possibility.

On a day when the manager claimed that the club were keeping things very much in house as far as the signing of new contracts etc were concerned it came as a surprise that he should be so relatively open on Sunday’s plans.

Indeed – after Fab revealed several weeks ago that ne was ready to sign a new deal – he may have been one of the two to have done so .

Our own inquiries among several of our own sources suggest that Vladi Coufal is the other one although that was well publicised at the time.

Maybe Moysie is teasing the media although should that be the case he’s teasing the fans as well.

He was in so much mood to do so regarding Sunday’s game telling reporters who asked if Alphonse Areola was impatient to play: “I’ve not decided yet, I could still play Lukasz in this game. Alphonse has done well when he’s played for us, we’ve been quite pleased with him.

Lukasz in the main has had an excellent season as well. ‘Phonse’ had an idea of what the situation was going to be when he came in.

He has done well in the Cup competitions and we’ve had no reason not to think about playing him but again it is the FA Cup and I might make a decision on Lukasz.”
