Moyes explains his summer window position

David Moyes has admitted he will be a bit strapped financially in the summer transfer market!
Like all clubs the Hammers are facing tricky decisions on who to buy and for how much as the pandemic hopefully comes under control.
Should we make Europe the squad will surely have to be deepened and talking to reporters Moyes have his view on what the way forward may be.
He said: “I’m not probably expecting there to be an awful lot of money around. I think there’ll be a bit but I wouldn’t say there’ll be loads.
The truth is, yes I’m planning for next season. I’m focusing on trying to prepare for pre-season and getting things in order as much as we can. We would like to add to the squad.
We are looking at what we have to identify and what we can get in. I hope it gives us the same level of talent that we’ve been able to bring in previously.
“It could alter depending on European football. Maybe we’ll need a bigger squad but we’re at the stage where we’re trying to develop the players and add players who can go directly into the first team and can improve on what we’ve got.
I’m not really that interested in signing squad players. Maybe that could change at the end of the season but it’s not really in my plans at the moment. “

  1. We should have a good budget for the summer based on net sales and reduced salaries for the past 12 months. We have to remember selling clubs will also need to sell so we are in a tremendous place. If clubs do not want to move on the price or payment structure then we look elsewhere. This is why i get a little annoyed when people talk about spending 20-25m on Lingard. Yes I would like to sign him for 10-12m, a good deal for everyone. There will be so much value in the market and if United want to rip us off for a player we can sign for free or little or nothing in December I just feel we would be wrong to fall for it. in this climate.

  2. This is exactly why I havnt commented gor a long time …how have we not got a decent budget..we didn’t buy players the last window as moyes said he would rather keep it and have bigger budget in the summer …he had 30 mil at his disposal the last window and that came from Sullivans mouth for a striker..I just don’t get it at all hence why I have stayed away….I though all the story’s about finances had a means to a end ……all clubs have struggled as we so often keep hearing but we havnt spent alot atcall do we can have a decent summer window …this has all come from moyes and the board nothing has been made up or added by me or news outlets…..here we go again..

  3. The chairmen will need to put their hand in their pockets and stump up money to buy quality if they are serious about staying in Europe, we have a good quality team now, with a good quality management team, hopefully the chairmen will step up and provide Pellegrini money to Moyes.
