Moyes explains the club was “very serious”

David Moyes has again explained that he would have liked to have brought players in during the winter window.

But he has made it clear that for a variety of reasons it didn’t happen although he stopped short of explaining exactly why.

And he has also admitted that the squad is lighter than he’s like it to be despite claiming in the past that he prefers to work with smaller squads.

He is pleased with the way we the lads have performed of course but given his comments in the presser ahead of the FA Cup clash against Southampton it seems clear  he will be getting his skates on hopefully for action in the summer window.

He has touched on the inaction in the last window on several occasions since it closed so we assume it’s on his mind and something which he can’t possibly afford to repeat in the summer.

Speaking to www.whufc.com he said: “We were very serious in trying to bring players into the Club in January, but for different reasons it didn’t happen. We know we’re a little bit shorter than we’d like to be.

The squad I’ve had at the moment has done a brilliant job in the last two years and I have no reason to think they wouldn’t do a brilliant job in the next three months between now and the end of the season.
