Moyes eyeing central defensive ‘soldier’

|

David Moyes is still apparently focused on Nottingham Forest’s Joe Worrall as his central defensive target for next season.

The 23 year old – described as a “soldier by the City Ground fans who have taken him to their hearts – looks exactly the type of player that would fit the manager’s requirements.

Those – known to CandH – who watch him regularly claim he is one of the most fearless defenders to serve Forest and they won’t be surprised if he becomes a hammer this summer.

We’re told he’s a guy who goes in where it hurts and isn’t scared about putting his head in among flying boots.

CandH revealed several days ago that Moysie’s main targets are a central defender, striker and Jesse Lingard and the Forest star looks a ready made central defender for us.

Worrall made 33 appearances for Forest last season and is currently valued around £8 million but Burnley, ironically, are in the race for him with Hammers target from the last window, James Tarkowski, out of contract next summer and the Clarets looking possibly looking for a fee before he becomes a free.
