Moyes gets Antonio boost

antonio2707abcMichail Antonio is back in training and has an outside chance of making the team for Friday night’s clash against Leicester.

The Hammer of the Year was back on the Rush Green training pitch yesterday with David Moyes desperate for his athleticism in the team against the Foxes.

We understand that he has recovered from his rib injury and is now being given a better than 50-50 per cent chance of making the team.

The midfielder was last seen as a late sub in the Palace match when a last minute error led to an equaliser for the bottom of the table outfit.

But he is desperate to return and his return to training is a big boost for new boss Moyes.

The manager will also have Marko Arnautovic available along with Andre Ayew who has recovered from illness and although he may be in the squad, James Collins is unlikely to star.

  1. At last good news my lord. Our best player coming back must at least give us a chance. Lets hope he stays back for the whole season.

  2. I’d like to see us take the initiative with Arnie, Obiang, Lanzini and Antonio across the middle, and Ayew and Sakho pairing upfront. With those five coming at you, I don’t think you’d want to be a Foxes defender… 🙂

    • Looks great on paper , Buddy . But the problem is Anautovic doesn’t like playing football , Lanzini can’t dribble and gives the ball away and Ayew does nothing except sit back . Obiang is probably the only one who can play anywhere near Antonio’s standards .
Is that negative , or what ?. .
Let’s be more positive ; Ayew up front with Sakho and Antonio with Cresswell supplying the through balls . Hernandez in midfield with Kouyate and Noble . Adrian in Goal is a non brainer . It’s bleeding hard work being a fan ; just imagine how hard it is Managing the idiots.

  3. Agree glad he is coming back need is pace strength etc.
His situation has been worrying lately so hoping he comes back fit passionate and Antonio we are use too.
Collins just being available makes me feel better might not have the pace but has the intelligence passion & physicality. I’d gladly have him in over Oghonna & Adrian behind him!
