Moyes gives injury update ahead of game

|

Felipe Anderson will be out for up to four weeks, Yarmolenko is out for another three weeks while the manager has hinted that Michail Antonio is not ready to return tomorrow.

Talking to the media at his pre-match press conference at Rush Green Moyes said “Felipe has a problem with his back he suffered in that landing so it looks like it is going to keep him out for a while. It looks probably about four weeks. Michail Antonio is getting closer to fitness, he’s been training with us. Yarmolenko looks like he could be the best part of three weeks away. We could do with getting some back because of the busy programme but sometimes, game after game isn’t bad as the players can focus on their form.”

Although he didn’t mention others  Fabianski remains out injured with a targeted return date of at the beginning of February.

Ryan Fredericks was thought to be out four to six weeks with a targeted return date of 24th February but could return much faster after responding better to treatment.

Jack Wilshere continues to work in the gym alone and a personal training regime and could return towards the end of February.

Andersons injury was down to a scything tackle committed to prevent his attacking run after he had beaten his man. The same happened to Lanzini and he missed 42 days. When is something going to be done about this type of cynical tackle. It seems players are instructed to “take one for the team” if there is any danger. Even pundits and commentators call it a “professional foul”. Jenas more or less said tonight that it’s a clever thing , all part and parcel, another art you have to master. Well that’s B/S. Why are these idiots condoning foul play, especially when it puts a player out for weeks, months in some cases. Kids watching get the impression this is ok. Haven’t the TV companies got a responsibility here?

So that’s 2 possibly 3 first team players out for 3 weeks – monrh and they still sit on their hands ,ok there’s still 10 days left but we need players yesterday and according to ” sources ” on various places we not even close to one ,they are playing a risky game they do realize we could possibly go down which means basically selling 90% of that team and starting again in likley a half empty stadium every week once the prem day trippers and tourists go elsewhere

Something is not right with these injuries… you don’t get this many setbacks with players season after season..
