Eddie Howe may have a worrying injury list but David Moyes is refusing to take tomorrow’s game anything less than very seriously.
West Ham v Newcastle will be a hugely competitive affair with Newcastle a point behind us in eighth place.
David Moyes isn’t sure whether he will have Mikey Antonio back from injury explaining he has been working with the medical team and a decision will be made late.
Newcastle boss Howe has revealed he has plenty of injury worries but at this stage of thing much can remain smoke and mirrors.
So we will need to wait until much closer to Sunday kick off time to see just how much has been real and how much has been hype.
Beyond Antonio the Hammers have no problems on that front although after his fine performance against Freiburg it may well be that Jarrod Bowen will remain in the central role rather than Danny Ings starting.
Discussing Newcastle in his presser today (Fri) Moyes said: “They had a night in Europe, which will be remembered for so long. We had a great night here, a few years ago against Sevilla when we won in extra time to get through.
There are nights in European football in the club’s history which you always remember. And I think Newcastle will always remember the night they had against PSG.
I think they are one of the best teams in Europe at the moment. They have got so much quality on their side and their manager has done a good job at a club that was unsure of what direction they were going to go.
Obviously, they have had help from the new owners, but I have got to say the manager has steered them into a good organisation and shape. And I think they are up with some of the top teams in Europe at the moment.
