David Moyes has had his say on whether Said Benrahma will make his debut against Manchester City.
The Algeria international arrived on an initial loan from Brentford last week but was not registered in time to take part in the astonishing 3-3 draw with Spurs at the weekend.
It opens the door to him making his Hammers bow against City in another tough encounter but Moyes insists he is in no rush to put the winger into his starting XI.
He of course adopted precisely the same approach with Jarrod Bowen but given the various views on the manager’s attitude towards the signing it will be a scenario to watch with interest.
He scored 17 goals in the Championship last season but the ex-Everton boss believes he needs time to adapt to life in east London and in the Premier League.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, he told reporters: “We are seeing good signs. We want him to get a bit quicker for the Premier League. I’ll take my time and bring him on when I am ready and get him in the right condition to start.”
City have not been in the best form this season, losing to Leicester City and drawing with Leeds, and it remains to be seen if the Hammers can capitalise on their stuttering performances in recent weeks.
