Moyes hails game-changing Benny

|

David Moyes hailed Said Benrahma for his contribution against Aston Villa on Sunday.

The Hammers won 2-1 against Steven Gerrard’s side, after goals from the returning Andriy Yarmolenko and Pablo Fornals, and are firmly in the top-four hunt as a result.

The Irons were largely indebted to the performance of Benrahma, who provided the assist for both goals, first crossing in for Yarmolenko to control and shoot, and then cut the ball back for Fornals to score the second goal of the game.

It was an excellent performance from a player who has so often flattered to deceive in a claret and blue shirt, and Moyes was pleased with the display of the Algeria international, insisting that he is becoming much more of a team player.

Speaking after the game, Moyes said, as per Football.London: “He was better today, some really good and some really poor but if he keeps getting assists that is good, he was more of a team player today.”

Benrahma will be needed for the rest of the week, too, as the Hammers play Sevilla in the second leg of their Europa League last-16 tie before taking on Spurs in the league next weekend.

Well he was frustrating a couple of times for sure, but then the runs and two delicious assists showed he is a player like DM says but needs to make intelligent choices. Well played Benny!
