Moyes has an interesting goalkeeping option

|

Big moment for young keeper Nathan Trott

David Moyes is always the most cautious manager possible when discussing injuries and team selection.

And there was no difference at today’s presser when he gave absolutely nothing away on either of his injured goalkeepers.

There are doubts over both, Fab suffering from an elbow problem and Randolph a troublesome hip although the No 1 was believed to have trained today..

However, there could be a call up for David Martin unless Fab is fit because Randolph certainly looked to be in a fair bit of trouble during  a difficult second half against Manchester City.

There is one other interesting alternative although it’s difficult to believe that Moyes will be ready gamble on young Nathan  Trott who appeared for 20 minutes in the fifth round FA Cup tie at Old Trafford.

The 22 years has been getting big reviews for the under 23s and his loan club AFC Wimbledon last term when he made 23 appearances.

There has to be a moment when the lad gets his chance – sadly I don’t think it will be on Monday evening.

David Martin should probably get his chance, why not? But Nathan has to be on the bench, and must be virtually there? He is 22, referred to as ‘young’ presumably as a keeper, but we have Dec, Johnson, Benrahma, Alves, Diop all similar ages. A great crop!!
