Moyes has so few options

West Ham boss David Moyes claims he prefers to work with a small squad so that is one of his very few achievements since the transfer window closed! The reality is the manager has left himself with so few options and when injury strikes as it almost certainly will he will have nowhere to go!

David Moyes tactics were doomed to fail against Arsenal and he may find it hard to convince West Ham players to follow him

Moyes has so few options

On Saturday after a six-nil humbling by Arsenal he made just two changes to a team which needed a wholesale overhaul. The result looking back was inevitable – another tonking from an average team but with some particularly mobile forward players.

It would be nice to think that he might call up some youngsters  – sorry that was a stupid comment as it’s never going to happen and instead we will see the same old faces in the likes of out of form Kurt Zouma and James Ward-Prowse.

Brentford aren’t in a particularly good place right now with two wins and six losses from their last half a dozen games but they also have Ivan Toney who has managed four goals from those six.

With Zouma and Aguerd looking dodgy and the team seeing the ball hit their net 14 times over the past five games that is more than a little worrying.

Moyes will presumably be hoping that players who have shown so little over the last few games and are without a win this year will suddenly turn things around because he has left himself with so few options to change the team around.

Worrying times but at least he has the smaller squad he apparently prefers. SIGH!

    He’s a Fraud.

Other teams even big teams like Liverpool integrate youngsters in matches and for many it’s brought good things. When given the option of bringing young Scarles for his debut at 6 down v Arsenal he brings on Cresswell. The game was already lost and would have at least given the fans something. I so long a manager with a long term plan, we may as well scrap the youth of Moyes stays.

He keeps mentioning about injuries and players away at AFCON. Other teams like Newcastle and Spurs have had about 7 or 8 first team players out and he’s trying to make excuses. It’s his decision to have a small squad, he made his bed..
