Moyes has to wait on Iron’s fitness

David Moyes will be forced to wait on Maxwel Cornet’s fitness before naming his squad for the game in Silkeborg on Thursday evening as the Irons bid to extend their lead at the top of their Europa Conference Group.

The player – so unfortunate to have his first goal for us ruled out through injury against Chelsea – was subbed after taking a knock and his involvement in the clash remains in doubt.

The manager may choose to go with his strongest team for the match in Denmark although that may depend on whether the Premier League decides to cancel the weekend programme.

The likelihood is that it will go ahead leaving Moyes with a decision to make on a line up given the side he fielded in the second leg against Viborg- notably Flynn Downes -did so well.

Silkeborg currently sit third in the Denmark league table, one place above Viborg having beaten AGF Aarhus 1-0 in yesterday’s home fixture.

  1. Similar line up.
    Downes for 90 minutes.
Rice and Soucek to share the other depending on Soucek fitness.
Surely Ashby back for this one
