Moyes hopes hit after thumping win

Moyes target Tom Cairney gets close to the West Ham boss at the Chelsea match but promotion for Fulham could push the midfielder a long way away!

Fulham’s thumping victory at Millwall last night (Fri) was bad news for Irons boss David Moyes.

The win, which ended the home team’s 17 match unbeaten run, pushed the Cottagers into the Championship’s second automatic promotion spot.

And that could be almost the final nail in the coffin of his hopes of signing midfield prospect Tom Cairney who has been very much in his sights.

Cairney has a a contract  until 2021 with a year’s option in the club’s favour and as their most influential player is hardly likely to be available – even at the £30 million we were being quoted in the winter.

However, the Hammers boss could have better luck with his other Fulham target – right back Ryan Fredericks – who is out of contract in June and whom he sees as the player to compete with Pablo Zabaleta.

  1. Fulham are certainly the form team in the Championship but Cardiff might hold on to second spot and the play offs can sometimes be a lottery – the year we were promoted under Pardew we limped into the playoffs and then beat Ipswich who had been in the top two most of the season

Let us just make sure that we remain in the premiership and then see what happens with Fulham
