The real David Moyes is starting to emerge quite quickly after the honeymoon period which involves new managers saying the right things at the right time about the right people!
It was profoundly interesting to see him taking the owners’ ball away in an interview with Sky Sports and claiming it for his own!
In making it clear that HE was not interested in talking about a new deal for the summer he sent an “I’m in charge” message to the owners who have always appeared to have first say in such matters.
Moyes, however, will be making his own decision it seems and he even emphasised the point strongly when declaring: “That’s me saying it, not the club. I won’t have any discussion until the end of the season.”
My interpretation of that is pretty straightforward – David Moyes is very much his own man and will make his own mind up on all things relating to the football side of things at West Ham!
To have made it clear that what he is saying has nothing to do with the club suggests that should he stay, he will be adopting a very uncompromising attitude towards his players and employers.
I like all of that – such an attitude has been required at West Ham for quite some time …good on you Moysie.

Lets just say this, if he does get us into or close to the top half, which is possible, then he holds the cards really not D&D. I like this attitude and its what the whole club, including the board, has needed for a cery long time.
Fully agree with you danielson79!
Just out of respect for the ‘good’ people at Sporting Lisbon, I think we should stick to using the terms, ‘Dildo Brothers’, or just, ‘The Brothers’ rather than the less colorful term Dave & Dave.
Only our bloody club could manage to inherit a set of owners, known he world over, as the ‘Dildo Brothers’-probably worth marketing as an entity on the stock exchange, but since I know zero re:business, I could do with some help from a fellow Hammer! LOL

Agree. Moyes will have better stance for negotiations in summer if we finish well & are playing good football. Tho Sully & some fans may have seen him as stopgap mgr if he keeps us playing like we are & getting better & we finish top 10 or even 12 I would give him the 2 years instead if going for a ‘big’ name. Moyes is arguably better in his 2nd season too.
We have a proper staff, most players seem to love the new regime & have been outspoken about Moyes & staff in media. More so then I’ve seen in a long time so they seem to like him (most I worry w Chic)
But it would be West Ham Way or the David’s way if end of season w finish say 9th & are playing good football & Moyes goes off somewhere else.
Hope it doesn’t happen I’ve been happy w Moyes & staff but we will see in summer.
And by cery I mean very lol
Well he seems to have cleared that matter up in a precise and eloquent way, it gives us all confidence that the job he’s undertaking is not an easy task and he certainly is telling everyone as it is i.e…..let me do my job my way …although his hands are tied to a six moon contract, i just hope he’s given the money in Jan to get some useful bodies in that can hit the ground running and push us up the table, then if he’s given a longer contract he’ll know exactly who isn’t in his plans and can get rid of the dead wood that seems to have engulfed our squad in recent times …I for one would love it if he came in full time and actually put a decent plan in for the foreseeable future …COYI…..
Moyes isn’t on a big wage so 2yr contract wouldn’t cost much had it not worked out. But like said earlier could help him negotiate.
My only worry was team backing him & Signings. The team or mist seem happier & to really like Moyes & staff & have been outspoken about it.
I just hope he 6m doesn’t hurt Signings or make him look more to just quick fixes & just buying PL aging experienced players. Instead of looking towards future as well with signings.
I hope that Moyes can pull one over ‘the Brothers’ and somehow manage to sign Carvalho and N’Zonzi. That would be strong additional proof of his managerial talents

While i like your ambition… that’s just a dream, if we were to sign them, it would only be 1.
Unfortunately it’s not Moyes money that he’s spending.
“The Brothers” takes too long to type. They can be Bros as far as I am concerned.
It is an easy thing for Moyes to say it is his decision after he was told, when he was signed up by Bros, that there would be no discussion about contract extension until the end of the season. Sounds good and all that but in reality he is just repeating what he was told.
Having said that, if he leads us to a mid-table finish, he can say what he likes.
