David Moyes intends to qualify for Europe AGAIN!
West Ham manager David Moyes has expressed his determination to secure European qualification for the club next season. Speaking ahead of tomorrow’s Europa League last 16 game against SC Freiburg, Moyes sounded optimistic.
Addressing the press, Moyes stated, “I want us to continue our strong performance in Europe and aim for European qualification through the league as well. While we had a period of struggle, I believe we are back on track now and heading in the right direction. Hopefully, we can maintain this momentum tomorrow night.”
Whether Moyes inadvertently hinted at his desire to continue managing West Ham next season remains unclear, but his focus seems squarely on the upcoming match in Germany.
Notably, Moyes also highlighted West Ham’s impressive European record under his guidance. “For West Ham to compete in Europe is a remarkable achievement. Over the past three years, we’ve participated in over 30 games, and I’m determined to extend this run and further establish our presence in European competitions,” he emphasised.
Of course it would not be a proper Moyes press conference without him reminding everyone of his remarkable record in Europe with the Hammers. However, he probably feels he needs to keep reminding everyone of his record given recent criticism.
Moyes also pointed out that Maxwel Cornet has not travelled with the squad. Aside from that, he has an almost fully fit group to choose from although I’d expect a couple of changes given his lack of substitutions recently.
Hear hear No 32 spot on.
Nobody can question the results, it’s the lack of improvement and the poor performances while ruining players careers and not being able to utilise the best youth teams in the club’s history.
