Moyes in no window rush

David Moyes is still considering his summer window striker options and as yet has made no move in any direction.

He is known to be an admirer of Tammy Abraham and Blackburn Rovers front man Adam Armstrong but at this stage there have been no decision made on where the money is going to be spent.

Josh King is right out of the question after his dreadful loan spell at Everton and Brentford have no intention of selling their main man Ivan Toney.

Moyes remains busy at the Euros following his managerial star again moving into the ascendancy after the superb Hammers season.

And we were told; “David’s never in a hurry and is aware the earlier you go in the more agents are likely to get an inflated price.”

He remains determined that there should be no leaks from the club, keeps his cards very close to his chest and has numerous options in mind.

“It would be a huge surprise if anything happened much before the middle of July. David sees no reason to rush his hurdles as agent talks continue.”

  1. DM might not be in a rush but he must know who he wants in key positions by now . We risk loosing out in players if other clubs come in for the same targets & that would be a disaster. We need to act soon IMO , he can’t claim he does not know who he wants by this stage.

  2. Oh yeah … in no rush. And again watch the other clubs getting the sharp strikers … Ollie Watkjns, etc, whilst we sit with injury prone Micky Antonio.
We cannot and dare not enter Europe and the league with a small squad. Come on Mr Moyes.
Please consider our nerves man. And get us us from the top shelve the appropriate new players who can take us further.
    Coyi. God bless West Ham.

  3. He who blinks first…..
There are three players in this game as far as I’m concerned..
    1. The Media
    2. The Supporters
    3. David Moyes
The media do what they do best… they kick up and create a storm.
This agitates anxious supporters and the world of social media is set ablaze with rumour and speculation. But there remains stony silence…from the club.
Take your time Dave as it’s the getting it RIGHT that matters for the good of this club.
I’ve seen this kerfuffle all before, but this time we have a manager who has earned my trust and I have no fear that Moysie has it under control….. So I ignore all the nonsense in the meantime. …

  4. Earlier it was reported that Moyes wanted to get his business done early so he would have the players for pre-season training, given how long it takes players from other leagues to adapt to the PL it would seem surprising if that wasn’t still true to a large extent. Supposedly Leicester are now likely to sign Patson Daka so that’s one off the list of targets, seems a straight replacement for Vardy, can’t be sure but I suspect that other clubs, Leicester, Wolves, Villa, Everton for example have better deal makers at their club than we do because they seem able to sign players relatively quickly whereas all of our transfer dealings other than those for Coufal and Soucek seem to have been long drawn out affairs that often result in clubs pulling out don’t they ?

  5. Keep the Faith . Moyes hasn’t made a bad deal so far , so give him some slack . A rushed decision normally turns out to be a bad one . I have no doubt our squad for next season will be stronger and more diversive . Substitutions will be key next season and that depends on our diversive squad . I have full faith in DM who has just signed a new three year contract .
Pacients is the key word . None of us truely expected a top six finish , so let’s calm down . We can be our own worst enemy at times .

  6. I have not heard anyone at West Ham say there was any interest in Daka. And as moyes has not yet put in any bids how can the media say he wasnt interested in west ham ? Its a wonder of nature. No bid and he turns west ham down. !

  7. Moyes is in Europe watching the best play. There are strikers of all types and ages on display. Some who have flown under the radar may now be up for consideration. Soucek and Coufal were unknown to most of us. What is wrong with the Czech striker, Schick?
No matter who we sign we will not win the EPL or Europa next season. So, with a limited budget we need players who keep us alive in Europa and might lift us a few spots in the table to play UEFA Champions in ’22-23.
    In Moyes I trust.

    • I like Shick especially at Sampdoria who recuirt well. He is tall but mobile & very good with his feet. Can be a very well rounded striker & tho I think that Pen was harsh he devoted it very well not to mention catching the Kepper out & other.
I definitely wouldn’t be against him & with Souček & Coufal he would probably slot in well. Someone like him & an Armstrong who has electric pace & is work horse can also play the let be good duo imo. Especially if Adam is available for £8-12m.
Yarmochunk looks good too weve been linked he is good with both feet too but if we could get Shick for same price I’d prefer him TBF. Hopefully Moyes is playing cards close to chest like usually, I like Edouard but worry about his attitude.
A lot of pundits where calling for Czech Republic to be 4th or slighty above Scotland, Turkey have talent but have been very bad. But the Czechs have talent & where they lack they make up for I’m team play & work rate.

  8. Look why don’t we just go for Adam Hložek no matter what’s going on in the euros. He is young but that’s ideal for us , will have loads of energy at his age . I think he fits the DM type of player & will settle better with Soucek & Coufal already here. Let’s be honest if your good enough , your old enough . Let’s go for him please ⚒

  9. Same old same old all very well saying no rush and trust in moyes …dont get me wrong I love him ..but we missed out on some really decent signings last season because of the stupid dithering. There isn’t any need for it especially if you know your targets…it borders on stubbornness,..imo
