Moyes’ injury update

David Moyes has dropped his injury update ahead of this weekend’s clash with Leicester.

The Hammers go into the game well aware that they really need to win to stave off the threat of a full-blown crisis.

Moyes’ men have only won one of the last five Premier League games and were beaten on penalties by Championship club Blackburn Rovers in the EFL Cup in midweek.

The Irons are currently 15th in the table and are level on points with the Foxes, who are 14th.

Brendan Rodgers’ side look in much better form, though, having won three of their last four, and Moyes is set to be without Maxwel Cornet and, potentially, Emerson on Saturday.

Speaking to reporters ahead of the game, as per the club’s official website, he said: “Emerson is touch and go because he broke his nose in midweek. He’s had it reset.

“We’ve got a couple of other knocks and niggles so we’ll see for tomorrow. Cornet is definitely out. He won’t come back until after the World Cup.”

This is the Irons’ final game before the Qatarstrophe, and the Hammers will next be in action after the Leicester clash on Boxing Day, against Arsenal.

  1. This Cornet guy is definitely a new ‘sicknote’ – he goes over easily and gets treatment on a regular basis! 🤬
