Moyes insists he makes decisions on signings

skysports-david-moyes-football-west-ham-united-premier-league_4178157David Moyes has made it clear that the board has told him final decisions on player signings will be his alone.

And he quipped: “I am just finding out a little about West Ham, we must have been linked with about 15 players in this window by all accounts.”

However, he is as clear now as he was a few weeks ago  when insisting there were no guarantees  on new arrivals.

He said: “Look, we have made it that if we can bring in one or two reinforcements to the team then we will do so.

“I think every manager will say the same, it’s not a particularly good or easy time to do business and it’s always an expensive month in the year. We will try to do it but there is no guarantee.”

And whilst he admitted that on signings  “nobody wants the final say at the club it was always the manager who takes it”is the one that always takes it.”

He added: “If you bring the players in then you will be the one judged by them. If I wasn’t the one bringing them in, I wouldn’t have come to the club the first place because I want to be judged by my team and the players I bring in and I have not known anything different.

The owners have always told me it will be my decision.”

  1. Well we know he was interested in Carvalho when he was managing Utd so hopefully that is one he will push for, reports are that West Ham have been contacted by Celtic to see if we are still interested in Dembele as apparently Brighton are but they don’t want to get into a bidding war. Curious to see who Moyes approves he already said he wants central midfielders, if he wants Wilshere he better move quick before he signs a new deal with the gooners.

  2. Already made a smart move in getting Reece Oxford back to the club if indeed it was his decision.

  3. Quite right to the board employ him to be the club manager so let him manage the players and buy to players he needs he knows more about players than the board ever will
