Moyes in celebration mood

David Moyes has joined Jarrod Bowen in being up for a big award – manager of the month for August and it has to be said wins it will be thoroughly deserved.

Even his most desperate critic – and we were among them (sorry mate), will be delighted because it means he is producing a team that is getting results and one of which we can be proud.

He of course has led us into fourth place behind Spurs, Liverpool and Man City with us due to meet the last pair over the two weekends following the international break.

Beating Chelsea, Brighton and Luton Town after the Bournemouth draw saw us go top of the PL for a short spell – a pretty astonishing achievement.

Unsurprisingly, Pep Guardiola has also been nominated for August’s award, along with Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta, Jürgen Klopp of Liverpool and new Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou.

Voting for the August Barclays Premier League Manager of the Month is open now and closes on at 12pm BST on Monday 11 September. Supporters can cast their vote here.

The winner will be announced on Friday 15 September.
