Moyes juggles with formation

David Moyes admitted he was forced to try new things at Brentford on Saturday due to missing players from the matchday squad,

He complemented Conor Coventry who he said “played really well” despite being linked to move to Peterborough and other clubs this weekend.

He said he played Ben Johnson out of position, one higher up on the wide right today because he did not have Jarrod Bowen who suffered a knock in training this week. With Angelo Ogbonna injured he admitted he was having to look and see what he might have to do at different times during the season to give him a chance to try one or two things out.

Moyes had Jamal Baptiste,  Frederick Alves, Keenan Forson and Armstrong Okoflex on the bench at the Brentford Community Stadium.

Mark Noble replaced Ben Johnson at halftime with Centre back Frederick Alves replacing Manual Lanzini later on in the game.

  1. Missing Bowen, his only replacement could have been Yarmo

  2. We may have been missing players against Brentford but looking at the bench showed how short on numbers we are. Redknapp would have been mentionlng “bare bones”, No coincidence that all the commentators and pundits mentioned that Moyes needs much support from the Board in the transfer market. Time to stop the talk and sign some players, starting with Pereira, a centre forward and a centre back.

  3. Just Wee Davey doing his job. Can’t have the same eleven doing the same thing week in, week out. If he doesn’t try different things with different people, he’ll never get to find out.
