Moyes keeps cards close to chest

David Moyes – as is his way – continues to play his cards very close to his chest on team selections.

He is giving nothing away on the fitness of Craig Dawson – other than to say he is coming along ok or whether Lukasz Fabianski and Mikey Antonio will be fit after taking knocks against Manchester City.

And he also makes it clear that he would sooner not be facing newly promoted clubs at this point in the season if he were given the chance not to,

However, he is happy to explain that two new signings Gianluca Scamacca and Maxwel Cornet are ready to appear in the game at the City Ground explaining that gives him a decision to make.

There  seems little doubt that both will be included with the new striker starting ahead of Mikey whilst with Arthur Masuaku gone and Said Benrahma still seemingly out of form, Cornet also.

The manager – speaking at his presser ahead of the game: “Both are fit so there’s a decision to be made. Craig Dawson is doing quite well so we’ll see where he is.

“We have Angelo Ogbonna working his way back from a cruciate too. “Lukasz had a knock last week and Micky Antonio had a knock too, but he’s trained today.”

  1. I have to say, Moyes does very good press conferences, he doesn’t let out his tactics much, he’s generally courteous and bullish at the same time. Look we do need a few more signings but Moyes has been terrific for our club and brought professionalism.
