Moyes leaves top names in London

Mavropanos looks set for a start

West Ham boss David Moyes has left several of his big name players at home as the Hammers travel to Lincoln City for tonight’s Carabao Cup clash.

According to the London Evening Standard Moyes is ready to test his squad depth by naming what would be an unusual side for tonight’s game.

He has allegedly left James Ward-Prowse, Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paqueta in London along with Michail Antonio, Alphonse Areola, Emerson Palmieri and captain Kurt Zouma.

Should all that turn out to be the case  we will see Lukasz Fabianski in goal with Mavropanos likely to partner either Aguerd of Oggy with Ben Johnson on the left side in the absence of injured Aaron Cresswell.

Midfield is likely to see Tomas Soucek alongside possibly Conor Coventry with Pablo Fornals set to get a game unless the manager opts for the likes of George Earhy playing a part.

Up front we are likely to see Danny Ings although young Callum Marshall us also being tipped for a start.

  1. WHUFC website photos of players “in pictures: Hammers prepare for Lincoln test” gives a hint of the squad for tonight. It notably does not feature those big names that you say are left behind, and has photos of those that you do list as being likely to play as well as Benrahma, Mubuma, Dan Chesters, Cornet, Alvarez, Aguerd but no photos of Earthy or Marshall. Let’s hope the latter two at least make the bench.

  2. The squad should be strong enough to win comfortably. I’m expecting West Ham to line-up with Fabianski, Kehrer, Mavropanos, Ogbonna, Johnson, Coventry, Soucek, Fornals, Benrahma, Cornet, and Ings
