The one thing we have learned about David Moyes and the transfer market is that he will stick with his choices through thick and thin!

That was demonstrated when he finally landed Kurt Zouma having spent weeks refusing to look elsewhere despite it looking very much as if he would he would fail to get the central defender.

So it’s fair to assume that his top choices of last season remain very much on his mind.

And that would suggest that Leeds and England midfielder Kalvin Phillips is high on the list of those he wants to bring in after the club claimed to have made a £50 million offer.

Should they be beaten by Brentford on Sunday and Burnley get above them with a win or draw against Newcastle at Turf Moor the Hammers position will be strengthened with the Clarets dropping into the Championship,

Despite him claiming in the winter that he wants to sign a new deal at Elland Road, that hasn’t happened and he will be out of  contract in 2024.

Last time around Moysie bid around £50 million and it’s fair to assume that he will again be battling for the 26 year old.
