Moyes makes one change for Newcastle game

By Hughie Southon

David Moyes has recalled Mikey Antonio to the Hammers side for the match against Newcastle United this evening,

And that is the only change from the team that gained a precious 1-0 win over Southampton at the weekend.

Mikey set to return

The Irons will be looking to go better than the 1-1 draw they gained at St James’s Park as they head into ninety minutes which could see them end the evening on 30 points and in 12th place.

Moyes has opted for the bustling approach of Antonio rather than the opportunism and penalty box presence of Danny Ings.

And at the back he gives Thilo Kehrer another opportunity after his fine display against Saints.

Newcastle have won their last three games and we are unbeaten in five at home so a tough encounter is on the cards.

2-0 down before half time.Surely there is no way back for Moyes.

  • Mr Buddy Lurve says:

I’ve worked out why we’re struggling. We’re literally playing with 10 men.

PLEASE can someone explain what Moyes believes Soucek adds to our team? All he does is stand in the middle of the park like a tree – they just play around him – and give away fouls.

How could Downes or Lanzini be any worse that this???

  • Mr Buddy Lurve says:

Moyes will inevitably dig out Aguerd and Fabianski, and probably Bennie (just for being on the pitch) but even without the mistakes, our negativity is choking our team.

What do you do when you’re 3-1 down with 30 minutes left? Stick Ings on for Soucek to add something to our attack? Nope. Leave an even less effective lone striker up top.

I would rather Nolan took the team than the Moyesiah! Joke.
