There really does come a time when David Moyes’ words leaves your jaw dropping whilst rubbing your eyes in amazement.

Moyes exit closer
We do – after all – know what rubbish we have been watching during the last three games and it truly has been astonishingly poor.
Moyes has had several explanations to make about that which have included claiming we have had a bigger picture in our minds – the next game, be it Premier League or European. In other words having it both ways.
Beyond that we were told that against Everton for example they were too good at stopping us crossing into the box and it was a puzzle we couldn’t counter.
There have been plenty of excuses given rather than reasons for three consecutive defeats but the latest explanation – which may be the fourth or fifth – is the most extraordinary of them all.
For as Hammers News put it this was an absolute rubbish claim which we can barely believe came out of his mouth,
Here’s what he told the pre-match presser ahead of tonight’s Carabao Cup Cup Arsenal game: ““I think we’re changing in ourselves. We’re playing a more expansive and open game than we have before, which in some ways is good.
We’re trying to look to open things up a bit more. Again, though, there are some Premier League games where it will be very hard, and there will be some games where you’ll have more of the ball and can try other ways.
We’re certainly trying to do that and I think we’ve shown some good signs in the first part of the season. We’re trying to find the way of becoming a little bit more open and get some more attacks.
The last couple of games, we’ve not made the chances, which is a surprise to me more than anything because that’s not been the way we’ve been working. That’s the bit we need to keep working on.”
Nothing to add, as the saying goes!
So basically when teams figure out how to stop us playing (which is easy to do as it hasn’t changed since Moyes took charge) there is no Plan B – this does not come as a shock to anybody who watches West Ham at the moment.
