Moyes may again miss out on defensive targets

West Ham’s pursuit of James Tarkowski may prove to be entirely in vain.

We are learning from the Burnley that the 27-year-old may be cool on a move to the London Stadium regardless of whether the reported £27 million fee were to prove acceptable the Clarets.

There are entirely different stories emerging on the Hammers transfer window front at the moment with Tarkowski being named by the Telegraph as the No 1 target.

However, they are also credited with the news that we fancied Brentford winger Said Benrahma which almost certainly is not the case.

Although there are no names in the frame publicly we have been told that Moyes is desperate for a right-back – unsurprising given the performances of Johnson and Fredericks yesterday.

He is also keen to bring in a left-back but we understand he may have to continue with Aaron Cresswell until closer to the end of the window or even beyond.

With £27 million certainly available, fingers remain crossed that the club and manager will tie up important full-back decisions but time grows increasingly tight.

  1. Newcastle sign three including Calum Wilson who loves, scoring against us. We sell a terrific prospect and don’t appear to have defensive targets lined up. It’s a big worry now.

  2. Why would anyone want to join us, we are a club on the edge of open civil war?

  3. Playing with fire once again… if we go into this season with one real left back we are going down.
Moyes should walk this is a joke

  4. Let’s face it now boys we will be relegated at the end of the season, I will be surprised if we ain’t rock bottom by November 10 points a drift. The club is run by clowns the team play like clowns. The whole club is rotten to the core and as a life long fan of 36 years I have never been so embarrassed by our wonderful club. The owners need to take stock and look at what’s going on and it’s all down to them. I do thank them for stopping us going into administration ten years ago but now is time to go, swallow what ever pride you got left and do what’s best for the club. We all know it’s down to money that you would have to pay to the stadium owners but by you being so tight fisted you are seriously damaging our beautiful family club. Please please sell us to someone who can make us believe again or just to watch some good football. It’s like watching a family member die slowly. As for moving the end seats closer to goal what a load of crap that is. If we never had broken promises then you wouldn’t have to move the seating closer.
    GOLD SULLIVANS BRADY OUT!

  5. The board knew this move would never happen when they bid
It’s a pitiful, transparent attempt to placate fans furious after their short sighted imbecilic decision which has incensed fans and players alike

  6. Clubs a train wreck, and has been for years. So unbalanced with to many players in similar positions, and can’t off load overseas due to wage demands unless they chip in. The owners are clueless to be honest and have no idea how to run the club.

  7. How embarrassing is that we have not had a single bid for Anderson, Lanzini, Yarmolenko or Wilshire? In fact we can’t even send them out on loan.
What this says about the previous coach and DOF defies words. The Board is not without blame ( they must have agreed the contracts), but to recruit so many unsaleable players and then to pay them so much is unbelievably stupid and incompetent.
If we are able to recruit now, and that seems more and more unlikely, the coaches will have no time to work with incoming players.
    Only at WHUFC!

  8. Why on earth would he want to come to a club like this, its run by a bunch of unprofessional money grabbing fools ..Leicester or west ham hmmm i wonder
