Moyes may return to successful option for United clash

|

David Moyes has the chance of playing an unchanged team at Manchester United on Sunday with the exception of Jesse Lingard.

We understand the Hammers are free of any further injuries from  the game against Leeds and Moyes is never a manager to rotate for its own sake.

Jesse is unable to play against his parent club and it will be interesting  to see how the boss sets the team up for a game which, should we win, could take us into fourth place.

That depends of course on how Chelsea go on against Leeds in a Saturday lunchtime kick off at Elland Road.

It has to be conceivable Moysie will bring in Ryan Fredericks to double up – with Vladimir Coufal – on Marcus Rashford in a move he employed against Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish amnd which played a big part in gaining our 3-1 away win.

Here’s our likely team for the game: Fabianski; Coufal, Diop, Dawson, Cresswell; Fredericks,  Rice, Soucek, Benrahma, Fornals, Antonio

Yes I agree with you Hugh.
Hopefully it’s a straight shoot out between Bowen and Fredricks to replace Lingard.
My fear is Moyes will drop Benrahma.
I’m puzzled with either Benrahma not starting or constantly being substituted.
Every match he plays well, links up well with other players in particular Lingard.
We never seem to play as well when his not in the team.

Agree with you Eug he works his socks off and makes things happen, he has passed that unlock defences where Fornals and Bowen take too many touches and usually hit shots that get blocked which is a waste.

I agree with the suggested team – but wonder whether Fredericks is fit as he wasn’t even on the bench against Leeds

Another possibility will be to go to a back 5 with Ben Johnson who did well after coming on in the cup

I agree with Fredericks on the right not Bowen. Instead I would play Bowen on the left in place of benrahma. Benrahma is not a winger for me and flatters to deceive in that position, giving the ball away more often than not.

Vlad Coufal can cope with Rashford on his own. No doubling up required here. Grealish was a completely different proposition. The rest of the Villa team could not cope without Grealish. Manchester United are not that reliant on Marcus – good though he is.

Fredericks should play he is better at the moment as a defensive and offensive winger, Luke Shaw is just as much threat as Rashford if he even plays and the extra pace of Fredericks gives us better options in defence and attack.
