Moyes names his squad for Liverpool

The Irons field the same team as saw off Bournemouth 4-0 at the weekend for Liverpool’s visit to the London Stadium this evening

David Moyes and the squad will be seeking their third straight win in all competitions in front of a packed stadium this evening.

Worries of any new injuries are nehind us and the in form Mikey Antonio leads the line looking for his  seventh goal contribution in the 2022/23 Premier League and fifth career goal against the Reds.

Skipper Declan Rice will move one shy of 200 Premier League appearances – and would become the youngest Hammer to reach the landmark should he feature against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

 Łukasz Fabiański starts between the sticks, with the back four likewise hoping to impress once more after a dominant showing on the south coast.

Aaron Cresswell makes his 325th appearance for West Ham, with Vladimír Coufal, Nayef Aguerd and Kurt Zouma, who scored in the 3-2 win over Liverpool at London Stadium last season, completing the back four.

Thankfully the highly gifted Lucas Paqueta is ok and his specilal skills and midfield work tate are likely to be very much needed this evening

Declan and Tomas Soucek make up the remainder of central and defensive midfield with Saïd Benrahma and Jarrod Bowen  supporting of Antonio, who has only scored more goals against three other clubs than he has across his career against Liverpool.

Another scorer in this fixture last season, Pablo Fornals, who also netted against Bournemouth, is part of a strong substitutes’ bench that seats Alphonse Areola, Manuel Lanzini and Danny Ings.

Having made his first Premier League start in the reverse fixture, Flynn Downes, alongside Maxwel Cornet, Emerson and Thilo Kehrer, will hope to make an impact from the bench.

Angelo Ogbonna, who scored the winner in a memorable FA Cup fourth-round replay in 2016, completes the matchday squad.
