Moyes no to Lukaku spot on

|

West Ham boss David Moyes surely made precisely the correct decision in deciding against bringing in striker Romelu Lukaku this summer.

The Belgian international is currently playing for for Serie A outfit Roma after a spell with Inter Milan last season where he scored 10 times from 25 games taking his total to 212 over a 14 year career.

He has scored goals at every level and whilst his age is against him at 30  there may also have been other attitude concerns .

Moyes anyway said no to the move for a player who now carries the reputation of being something of a European journeyman.

It’s interesting that despite his excellent goals record down the years. Chelsea are now happy for him to finish one loan spell with Inter Milan before allowing him to spend another season on the same basis with Roma.

Had we moved in it would have been on a loan basis too but Moyes is understood to have made as clear refusal
