Moyes: No transfer window frustration among fans …hmmm

David Moyes hasn’t got much wrong since his return to West Ham but he may have made a big misjudgement about the fans today (Tues)

With still only one loan signing on board this summer and the manager claiming there may  be no more, frustration among the fan are at pretty high levels.

Moyes doesn’t agree, however, and his weekend comments that if we continue to play as we did against Newcastle we may not need any may be cause for that concern to grow even more.

It’s been said a million times or more but the striker position is particularly worrying with apparently nobody in sight as back up to Antonio.

One injury to Mikey and we are in trouble with only the false nine option available through Jarrod Bowen or Said Benrahma.

Moyes, meanwhile, is straight batting all inquiries as to transfer window activities and today suggested the fans weren’t concerned.

He said: “We are trying to add to the squad if we can. We’ve had and we’ve got some offers in for people but not everything is coming to fruition. We’ll do our best to add to the squad before the close of the window.

“It has been a difficult window because the market in general is very quiet. There has been money spent at the top end but it has been quiet overall.

“We hope to add to it. I don’t think West Ham supporters are frustrated, I think they’re realising how good the team has been.

“So many will be coming back to see new players who they’ve not seen for the last 18 months who have been doing really well.”

  1. I am beginning to think he does not have a clue, we need 4 top players and he wants to sign Zouma, Lingard and Abraham (before he signed for Roma). The fans are disgusted with this transfer window and if his strategy was to buy top players for little or nothing towards the end of the window well he is even more stupid than I thought he was. He is threatening our PL status by not signing the players we need and if he ends up signing nobody or even crap there will be no forgiveness from the fans. He is risking his relationship with the supporters and I for one am so disappointed in what has happened this window. Bring us the young top players you promised or risk the wrath of the fans.

  2. Boy did he ever miscalculate.

  3. We realise we have a good team but we also realise an injury will put an end to our ambitions. We need cover that will improve us, we are weaker than last year with the loss of Lingard and Balbuena and we have more games, dithering Dave better pull his finger out and lose his ego over agents feed if it hurts the team.

  4. All we are saying is give us a Czech , or two, or three or more. But give us something.

  5. Plenty of time left in the window and Moyes won’t be forced into signing players who are not good enough by people like you lot.
