Moyes offers hope for Gooners treble

David Moyes has produced a press conference in which he has offered hope that we can make it a treble over   the Gooners at the London Stadium at the weekend.

Moyes offers hope for Gooners clash

Sadly, we received no information on how it might happen as is usually par for the course on these occasions

He has revealed – if that’s the right word – that neither Lucas Paqueta or Mikey Antonio will be fit for the game which means we will be seeing a similar tam which has failed to win a game since we last beat Arsenal on December 28.

Paqueta has been absent since the Bristol City FA Cup replay and Antonio since November 12 when we beat his former club Nottingham Forest.

Claret and Hugh has learned through sources that Paqueta could be out for another three or four weeks and it seems possible from the manager’s comments – such as they are – that the No 9 could be back for the return match against his former club next weekend.

Commenting before the assembled media the Hammers boss said:

“Lucas Paquetá isn’t ready yet. Michail Antonio has started training, but has only trained for two days with the group. It’s great having him back training, but he’s still off it in terms of match fitness and being available.”

He then added:” We’ve tried to give the players a bit of time training together, which we’ve needed because we’ve been off the boil a little. Getting them all back together has been good and hopefully we can build on it.

“We’ve beaten Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea this year. We’re giving the top teams a game and hopefully we can so the same on Sunday.”

And on the match itself he said: “If you’d given me one of the wins against a team I’d have been happy. Two is fabulous and if we can make it three it would be fantastic. They are a great side and we will have to play really well.”

The manager has done a brilliant job with the team. They’ve got some really top quality players.  We did a great job getting a win at the Emirates and overall we’ve had some good results against them. We’ll have to work hard and play well again when we play them on Sunday.”

Well, yes!!!
