Moyes on expectations

Whatever happens – apart from a string of defeats of course – next it’s been a great season!

And David Moyes has made it clear that whilst we are in an incredible position it’s important to maintain a sense of top ten perspective.

He will do all he can to ensure European football next season but we should – like him – not lose sight of where we are and how far we have come right now.

And bearing n  mind the squad size the performance becomes even more remarkable and we can of course be thankful that we have only suffered comparatively few injuries compared to previous seasons.

The manager has been discussing that and the Monday night game which could well become another major step towards the European dream.

Commenting on www.whufc.com Moysie made his pleasure at what has happened this season clear and reveals his previous aspirations before the season took off big time.

He said: “At the start, if you’d have given me a top ten place, I’d have said ‘thank you very much, that’s an incredible season for West Ham.’ It would show that progress had been made.

We don’t want to lose sight of the fact that making progress is so important. The position we’re in at the moment is an incredible position to be in, so I’m hoping we can stay in it and we’ll do everything we can to maintain the role we’re in.”

  1. Seems right to me Hugh. We can get carried away if we want to, but we have to enjoy this season whatever happens at the end. I know I’m loving our football. Satisfied? – I’m already there. C’mon Wee Davey. COYI
