David Moyes has given his team news ahead of the Southampton game on Sunday.
Moyes told reporters “Andy Carroll is improving and is getting closer to coming back”
Further on Carroll, he added “He’s doing a lot of running and changes of direction. Can I get him fit to play 90 minutes between now and the end of the season? I don’t know, but if I can get him fit to play 20-30 minutes then that would be good.”
On the Miami warm weather training, Moyes said: “It was nothing to do with a defeat or a win. We thought it was the best time to take the squad away for a few days. In most cases, you’d want to get back out and play again, but we were out of the FA Cup and probably, after the way things went, it was good to get away and let the dust settle. The players are very together and it’s given us the chance to tell them the importance of working together to stay in the Premier League. We know we’ve got to do better and we can do better.”
