Moyes on the big under 23s question

David Moyes admits he has been mightily impressed with the form of the Hammers’ Under-23s this season.

The Hammers boss was asked about the form of Armstrong Okoflex ahead of this weekend’s encounter against Kidderminster Harriers in the third round of the FA Cup.

He admits that he has been impressed by the former Celtic youngster, who has scored 12 goals in 18 games for the U23s.

The 19-year-old could be given his first-team debut this weekend and Moyes admits he has been mightily impressed with the form of the youngsters, as they sit second in Division 1 of the Premier League 2.

Moyes told reporters: “I’ve been impressed by Armstrong but I think I’ve been more impressed with how well our under-23s have progressed this season. The team is doing really well.

“The first team were close to relegation a couple years ago and the under-23s have changed as well. What we’re trying to do is get everyone feeling that we have to be winning and in and around the top. I’m pleased for the under-23s because they’re all showing progress. It’s good for them and their future careers.”

  1. Yes David
use them then and not just for 2 minutes.
Oko flex could save you a lot of heartache.
Why play Yarmolenko when he’s not the future or current tbh.
