Moyes opens up League v Cup debate – fans respond

|
David Moyes appears to have made it clear that the FA Cup will take second place in his plans this season and we can expect to see an “under strength” team at  Shrewsbury on Sunday.
Given we face two matches in ‘midweek’ this may not come as the greatest surprise on earth and the fans have at ClaretandHugh’s facebook group have been quick to have their say.

O Here we go again. The romantics v. the realists (pt 2).
This is poor from Moyes. We are not going to win the league or get relegated. Let’s give this a go for the sake of our
I think the manager has made an outstanding point. He’s not ready to give relegation a go for sake of travelling fans
O  He’s right. These poor footballers being asked to play football. Where will it end?
O No disrespect to the Cup team but we have bigger things to think about and our youngsters have proved they are capable of beating lower league teams. It’s why we have a squad of nearly 30 not just 15.
O Yes he’s right to ignore the usual predictable fan moan up too. Wonder how we will feel if a couple of injuries before Spurs eg
O  Play the Under 21s in the Cup
O I’m happy for Moyes to put that at the forefront of his aims and ambition.

We played a lesser team agjnst Arsenal & lost out if EFK which could if gone further in & it seemed to slow our momentum too.
I think we should be able to put out some youth & first team & beat Shrewsbury tho.
I do understand with it coming hard in fast & schedule especially with such a small squad.
Yet another reason we should keep Burke & Cullen. Burke already has 6 championship ckhbs that want him & Cullen is a ball playing mid they deserve a chance under a proper staff & we need the added depth to our squad.

His same philosophy didn’t work last time we had a winnable game in a cup.
Played poorly in the next two games.
Pathetic management that a Premier League team can not field a strong team in the FA Cup.
Players like Kouyate,Hernandez,Noble,Reid,Carroll,Sakho and the U23’s have hardly played in December. Ridiculous from Moyes,he’s going into Sunderland mode………
    Lost any faith in him.

I can understand this because of 3 games in 5 days.-But should we get through I ld be really annoyed if we didn’t then play our best team in the cup.Otherwise our sole aim is to play for 17th place each year which is a complete waste of time. This club goes from bad to worse.-Board OUT.

Fair play to Moyes, Spuds and West Brom are more important than the FA cup match, at least he has notified the travelling fans in advance so they know what to expect, if the B team isn’t good enough to beat Shrewsbury they should know they are not premier league quality, possibly Noble and Antonio will be back for that match anyway or at least a run out for 60 minutes, we should also have Oxford, Hart, Chicharito, Sakho, Carroll, Kouyate it’s about time they stepped up and showed some quality, maybe even give Martinez and Haksabanovic a run if fit.

The comments of a manager that has never won anything worth talking about! If you can’t mix up a team to beat the likes of Shrewsbury then you are clearly not a premiership manager.
Just what the fans want to hear, once a loser always a loser!
Just make sure you beat West Brom
