Moyes outlines the perfect owner

David Moyes has outlined what makes a good club owner.

Unsurprisingl,y he makes trust his number one priority trust, adding they need to be supportive and be available as a sounding board – people with whom he can speak.

He declared that you need understanding owners who don’t get too high when you win or low when the team is beaten.

Talking to reporters  he said: “At the moment I have had really good backing and support from the people at the club. They are helping me. And they want me to help the club. Hopefully, we can do that.”

Asked about impatient owners of the past the 57-year-old manager has experienced he said: “Both the Davids have given me as much control as I would possibly want.

Obviously, I don’t sign the cheque to pay for it. All  I can do is recommend and say who I think we should bring in and what I think would give us a chance. They have been very, very good.

“We tried for several players in the window and we didn’t quite get one or two centre-halves we were after, but, in truth, we have tried really hard to improve and do it in a better fashion .

We are trying to be correct as much as we can. There is nobody who can get everything right all the time, that’s impossible, but I think we are trying to do it will a little bit more design and looking at it a lot harder.”

  1. Bill Kenwright at Everton is a good example from his past, trust was high and Moyes identified targets and they went out and got them. DS is probably different, a nightmare with PR, good intentions for the club no doubt but dubious ways about achieving them and the lack of a scouting network, an inability it seems to work with agents other than his preferred ones has to be seen as a problem. Agents in general are a problem for all clubs that is something the whole of football has to find a way to regulate because they are ruining the game, if you have a financial model where agents make more money by moving players that is an unstable system where players and club interests are disproportianately affected by agent and or player greed.
