Moyes points from games survival target looms

CandH exclusive by Hughie Southon

The West Ham board are usually very reluctant to pull the  the rug from under their managers.

As things stand the board have managed to keep us in the Premier League for ten years plus and we have been through our share of bosses in that time.

Sam Allardyce, Slaven Bilic, Mauel Pellegrini, David Moyes have been involved over that time and CandH were often told towards the end of their time how any departure would be handled.

It usually involved each of them getting a certain number of points from upcoming games if they were to survive and there’s no reason to believe that won’t be how it is handled this time around.

Two or three CandH sources who understand how the board work and have been close to things down the years are saying much the same thing tonight,

They are unanimous in believing that the manager will have to take a minimum of five points from the next three games when the team return to action after the events in Qata,

With games coming against Arsenal away, Brentford at home and Leeds away that could be tough.

It’s wait and see time and the anxiety started at around 5pm this evening.

  1. When you listen to professional pundits, especially the West Ham ones like Tony Gale, when you listen to the likes of Noble, and even when you listen to the words of current captain Rice after todays game they are all saying it would be a rediculous decision to get rid of Moyes. To say Moyes has lost the dressing room is a nonsense. As Rice said clearly the players have been underperforming but they’ve also not had the best of luck in games with fine margins.

  2. It seems crazy to go into a 6 week break with that kind of uncertainty over the coaching ?!
Either give Moyes the season or cut him loose now and give the new boss time to get in before games start up again… Just MHO of course.

  3. Never a better opportunity to re set, 6 week break, new manager and his back room staff embedded before we return, get a new buzz about the place, Moyes is a spent force

  4. Even if he stays, it’s probably a good idea to bring in at least 2 prominent back room staff / coaches to shake things up a little and get more new voices in the picture. Clearly the current ideas and plans are not working.
