Moyes points to Blades’ tricky opening games

|
West Ham boss David Moyes is aware of the tricky run of games Sheffield United have faced at the start of the season – not unlike the Hammers, which offers an explanation of their current position.
The Blades have been beaten by the likes of Wolves, Arsenal, Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea along the way as they have plunged to the bottom of the table and the Hammers will need to be on their game to make sure the Blades don’t grab their first win of the season against us.
There’s always been much talk of second season-itus among promoted clubs who do well in their first campaign in the top league but United  will be looking for a big result against us as they bid to turn their winless start around
We have  what most of us consider an injustice to straighten out from last season when a Robert Snodgrass goal was controversially ruled out for handball by Declan Rice.
And  a victory will confirm the Irons are becoming a more consistent side who can grind out results against teams seen as lesser opposition.

Discussing the game at his morning presser Moyes explained: “They’ve had a very similar run of games to us at the start of the season. They’ve also had a couple of injuries to key players.

“They’ve got a really good manager and a good group of players who have been around together for a long time, and that will make them strong which they can use as the season goes on.”
“We want to keep our form up and keep playing the way we’re playing. We’ve been creating a lot of chances and we want to keep that going.”
