David Moyes produced a peculiar answer to a good question when he was questioned at the pre-match presser against Spurs. And fair play to the reporter who had the bottle to ask a question which needs answering – not always the case among many of them.
Moyes’ peculiar answer to a good question
So far this season the Irons have conceded eight of the 24 goals against the team – A THIRD – of the goals against them between the 40th and 60th minute, a stat which raises questions of the half time team talks maybe. Moyes responded unsurprisingly that he was very well aware of the figure which has had many of us wondering why for some time how this should be the case.
Sadly his answer wasn’t the most illuminating but then that can often be the case and he went on to tell us how many minutes there are in a game in what was a very peculiar response generally.
He said: “Well I think football is 90 minutes so you have to start well from the first minute to the 90th minute however you want to put it. We’re well aware that we’ve not started the second halves particularly well.
“But I think if you look at the first halves we’re probably nearly top of the Premier League if it was only played (the first) 45 minutes. So we’re doing some things right at some stages in the game.”
Oh dear – what sort of answer is that?
