Moyes reflects on the window

David Moyes believes he enjoyed something close to what he wanted from the summer transfer window and has explained  there may be more to come.

It took a while for things to take off but the last few days have been as exciting as it gets at the club with the arrival of Lucas Pasqueta.

And Moyes was ready to appraise his window just over 48 hours before it closes telling reporters: “I think I have come pretty close (to the window I wanted).

I have something in my head where I am thinking I would have liked something here and whatnot, but what we have done is if we haven’t got one, we have tried to get onto the next one quite quickly.

We had a long time looking for a left back. We bid for a few and asked about some midfielders early in the window. You think of the centre forwards we couldn’t get.

We were trying for a month to get one or two of them. we were really hard at it. It has been necessity more than anything.”

And on the marquee signing Pasqueta he added: “There have been a lot of statement signings this year at many clubs, but for us he is a player who has been liked by so many teams and we have been able to get him.

I have had other times where I want players liked by others teams and not been able to get them. it is a good signing, the big thing is his flexibility and we will need a bit of time to get to know him and how best to use him. We are looking forward to having him.
