Moyes refuses to deny on Lingard

|

David Moyes has refused to deny that the club have interest in a deal to sign Manchester United’s Jesse Lingard!

The club are continuing to pursue potential deals in the January transfer window, with the manager desperate to sign a new defender and a striker, while there is interest in signing Lingard, as there was in the summer.

As we have reported, there is hope that the deal can be done for a cut-price fee that could total around £5m, with United aware that he wants to move on in this window.

Lingard, of course, knows the Hammers well after his sensational loan stay at the club last season that saw him earn a recall to Gareth Southgate’s England squad prior to Euro 2020, although he did not make the final squad.

Moyes has played questions with a straight bat throughout the saga and did nothing to deviate from that on Friday ahead of the FA Cup clash with Leeds.

Speaking to reporters, via Football.London, he said: “I will not talk about players at other clubs, Jesse is a Manchester United player so it is not for me to talk about him., He did a really good job last year and we appreciated him, we are thankful for what he did.”
