David Moyes has revealed he will be including Maxwel Cornet in the squad for the game in Cyprus tomorrow evening (Thurs).

However, he has added that the former Burnley winger is not going to feature nor that he expects him to until after the international break.

The squad flew out this afternoon ahead of the last 16 game with Moyes excited about the possibility of keeping the club swimming along in Europe.

The manager wants  to use West Ham United’s European campaign as a springboard to a successful end to the 2022/23 season after the first chaotic seven months of the campaign.

He will need to see the team he chooses bounce back from the worst defeat most of us had seen for months at Brighton against a team sitting  second place in their league.

Centre-back Thilo Kehrer (illness) and striker Michail Antonio (hamstring) are both also in the squad after missing the 4-0 defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion last Saturday. Centre-back Angelo Ogbonna is also in the squad, despite coming off injured in the second half of that game with concerns over a knee issue.

Revealing more than usual about the squad Moyes declared that Mikey Antonio would also be travelling saying:“He had a bit of a hamstring (issue) he felt after the game at Old Trafford, but doesn’t seem too bad at the moment. Thilo as you know was sick, but he’s travelling with us as well.

He added “I’m bringing Maxi Cornet with me. He played the other night but I generally think he’s not ready to play yet, but I’m bringing him with me to be in the squad but I think he’s a wee bit away yet. Maybe more likely to be ready after the international games, but I’ve got him with me.

“Angelo Ogbonna has picked up a bit of a medial ligament injury in the game, which we took him off with, more as a precaution. I think Angelo will be okay and he will be with us as well.”
