Moyes sends Zouma message

David Moyes has sent a message to Kurt Zouma, insisting that he still has to get back to his pre-controversy levels in a West Ham shirt.

As we all know, the Hammers centre-back was widely condemned for kicking his cat in a video that was later published on the internet.

Moyes opted against dropping Zouma in the fallout and instead continued to select him, but he admits that his levels have somewhat dropped since the incident.

And he hopes that the ex-Chelsea star can return to the form that earned him the move and marked him out as one of the best signings of recent years in a claret and blue shirt.

Speaking ahead of this week’s FA Cup clash with Southampton, Moyesie said, as per the club’s official website: “We just want Kurt to play like he has done prior to the incident, which obviously we’re all very regretful for.

“He’s had to focus himself. It’s a situation he’s put himself in, but he’s been mentally tough enough to get himself through it.”

Zouma has also had to deal with injuries but he has made a total of 17 appearances this season, and is likely to be back in the team against the Saints.
