ExWHUEmployee on The West Ham Way Patreon, the chances of an offer to Lingard has improved greatly, and now David Moyes has provided further indication that an offer could soon be made.
The manager said: “Jesse has been training with us for the last 3 weeks. He’s in really good condition – much better condition than he was when he first came in.
“I have to say, when Jesse joined us two years ago I think he scored nine goals in 15 games and was probably the difference between us getting into Europe for the first time.
“I want to give him every opportunity to get himself back in condition and see how he does.
Lingard produced 9 goals and 5 assists in the 15 matches he played for West Ham back in 2021, helping the club reach a 6th place finish and achieving Europa League qualification.
The thought that is niggling me is Moyes’ mindset. Why so much about a player who played a few good games two years ago? Why is this in his squad thoughts when he has so many options? Why are we not hearing about Fornals, Cornet, Benrahma, and work being done to improve them? By the Lingard yardstick, Benny and Pablo both scored in our Euro campaign, Moyes finest run. Cornet is now recovered from injury and a current international, how do we play him? These are our players, not pie in the sky Lingard on yesterday’s promises.
