Moyes set to stick with what he’s got

West Ham are unlikely to be making any winter window signings!

With the club on 21 points they are now over halfway towards the 40 named by David Moyes as being the Premier League safety target.

And with a strong confidence  this is not a team that will be relegated threatened there is no pressure on the manager or club to make expensive signings this winter.

We were told by a source close to the club: “There really is no need in desperate financial times for the Irons to be stumping up money for new signings.

Yes the are light in a couple of areas but given the circumstances of this very difficult year it would be a big surprise were they to be spending very much if anything at all.”

Moyes had already indicated the same when claiming he was very aware of the financial situation and that he intended to look after the club’s money.

Ideally, the club would like to bring in a back-up striker but will probably soldier on with Antonio and Haller until the summer when the Frenchman is strongly fancied for a return to Germany.

  1. With well over half the league having rich benefactors nowadays we are going to get left behind it this continues

  2. Very good news. We already have enough players of quality for the immediate future. The future is bright – let’s get on with it – bring it on and we”ll see where we can go.
Good to know that David and coaching crew are confident with our current staff.
Happy Christmas everybody – and have a better New Year. 2021 here we come!

  3. So that’s the sum total of our ambition is it, just to get by escaping relegation. A real chance to achieve a decent placing this year, even if we tried to strengthen the squad with a couple of shrewd loans. If anything screams out that this board must sell up its this.

    • I think Moyes explained it wouldn’t be a five minute job and that he would build slowly. I think he knows what he’s doing.Youmay be overlooking how well the squad is doing and the impact of Covid on everyone’s finances. I guess we all believe what we wanna believe

  4. Please sell up ASP this is probably the answer to our club ever going forward and if this board doesn’t want to back Moyes with signings then jog on as were all be here when your gone ASP. GSB OUT

  5. I think that we saw the more ambitious approach – it was called Pellegrini and featured Felipe Anderson – so I am quite happy with Moyes slowly improving us season by season

  6. Oh dear the gsb out, please sell us to a rich Arab mob won’t be happy with this. Another excuse for a protest March.

  7. What a grubby little article to exonerate a distinct lack of ambition which typifies their unprofessional and tin pot ownership.

They are terrible custodians of this club, and the sooner that they leave the club the better.

    • We try to tell you it as it is and I’m not sure whether we are to blame for a grubby little article in your terms. We are no friends of the board as some would have the world believe but given we are on 21 points, in the middle of a pandemic, and like most other clubs unable to spend fortunes I’m not sure what your problem is. We can all throw insults around -arguing a case may not be quite so simple

    • I just don’t get the negativity – did we just rewind 12 months without me realising? Good steady progress in the last year under Moyes, in my opinion, and yes, part of the credit for that has to go upwards to the owners for letting Moyes consolidate our position. Let’s hope their ‘hands off’ style continues and when cash flow allows, support Moyes at the right time in the market. But now – in the middle of the worst economic crisis in most of our lifetimes?? We may not all agree with the formation, selection etc. but let’s just stick together and support the team. Glass half-full for me … COYI
